ESC (ELECTRONIC SPEED CONTROLLER )

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION

  1. First, connect the three terminals of the Brushless motor to the three terminals of the ESC.
  2. Connect the signal wire of ESC mostly white or yellow colour to any PWM pin 8 of Arduino Uno
  3. You can use more than one pin for controlling many motors.
  4. Connect the Potentiometer to the Vcc or 5v pin of the Arduino and the Ground.
  5. Connect the third terminal which is the variable pin to the Analog pin A0 You can power the Arduino using the BEC (Battery Eliminator Circuit) Present in your ESC. To use the BEC just connect the red thick wire to the Vin Pin of Arduino. It can provide 5V. Not all ESCs have a BEC, in this case, you can use an external 5v power supply. After Powering the Arduino now connect the Lipo battery to your ESC.

NOTE: Connect all the Circuits. The speed is controlled with the ESC (Electronic Speed Control), which controls the speed based on the entry voltage.

WORKING

Welcome to the Arduino Based Project to control the Brushless motor which consists of a Brushless Motor, ESC 30A, Lipo Battery and a Potentiometer. The ESC stands for electronic speed control is an electronic circuit used to change the speed of an electric motor, and its route and also to perform as a dynamic brake. These are frequently used on radio-controlled models which are electrically powered, with the change most frequently used for brushless motors basically providing an electronically produced 3-phase electric power low voltage source of energy for the motor.

And being connected to a brushless motor, it carries more power and higher performance as compared to the brushed ones. It can also last a longer period of time. Lastly, connect all the Circuits. The speed is controlled with the ESC (Electronic Speed Control), which controls the speed based on the entry voltage.

TROUBLESHOOTING

  • My charger says ‘Connection Break’

First, check that your balance connector and T-Connector are fully connected to the charger. If everything is connected properly, your battery has a bad connection or has dropped below a safe voltage. Your battery is unusable and you should dispose of it.

  • My battery is ‘puffy’ or otherwise deformed

Improper charging, storage, or damage may cause LiPo batteries to puff out. Your battery is unusable and you should dispose of it very carefully. Do not attempt to charge or use the battery.

  • Storing your battery

Store your battery in a cool place in a fire-safe container
